Courtesy of the SIAC: The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week. For women, Nyla Allen (Savannah State) was named Player of the Week, while Keyshuna Fair (Allen)earned Newcomer of the Week. For men, Eleik Bowles (Savannah State) was named Player of the Week, alongside Myson Lowe (Fort Valley State) who earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday. Albany State hoops swept at home by Lane

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams men and women’s basketball teams were defeated at home in a SIAC matchup against the Lane Dragons.  The Golden Rams women lost (67-57) to the Dragons.  With the loss, the Golden Rams women fell to (3-5) overall and (1-2) in the SIAC.   The Dragons improved to (5-1) overall and (3-0) in the SIAC.    Kashay Hankerson led the Golden Rams with 21 points.  Kayla Milner contributed with 13 points.  As a team, the Golden Rams shot 46.2% from the field and…

Albany State gets 72-67 win over Tuskegee

The Albany State men’s hoops team won their second straight game by defeating Tuskegee72-67 Monday night. The first ten minutes of the contest was a back-and-forth affair that featured 7 lead changes and 5 ties.it appeared that Albany State may be beginning to assert control over the game when Terin Wofford’s dunk put the Golden Rams up 18-13 with 9:32 left in the half. Albany State women’s hoops boat raced by Tuskegee, 85-40

Early in the season, Albany State scored a surprising 68-60 win over Tuskegee and it appears they had not forgotten about that set back as they laid an 85-40 beat down on the Golden Rams Monday night. The Albany State University Men’s Basketball team has continued to stumbled out of the blocks of the 2022-23 season with a 87-56 throttling at the hands of the University of West Alabama.
