Southern University sophomore tight end Ethan Howard announced he was entering the transfer portal. The Cecilia High School ( Breaux Bridge, LA) product informed the world of his decision Monday in post to his Twitter account. Last season Howard was Southern’s second-leading leading receiver, hailing in 29 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns. This past season, for unknown reasons, he only appeared in one contest, the October 22 matchup against Virginia Lynchburg.

Jackson State’s Jason Mercier declares for NFL Draft
Jason Mercier is the latest Jackson State footballer to either enter the transfer portal or declare for the NFL draft. The senior defensive line announced Sunday evening that he will now seek to make his NFL dreams a reality. This season, the Florida International transfer recorded 21 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a fumble recovery, as part of a defensive unit that, up until the Celebration Bowl, had not surrendered more than 24 points in any game this season.
