Matchups for the quarterfinals of Men’s Basketball at the Tokyo Olmpics have been set.
The United States draws a tough Spanish National Team in their quarters matchup, which will tip off at 12:40 a.m. EST Tuesday August 3. The countries are used to crossing paths, having met in gold medal games of the 2008 games in Beijing and 2012 in London ( both of which were won by the US).
France, which won Group A, will face Italy, the runner-up in Group B, at 4:20 a.m. EST August 3. Group B winners Australia will tip it off against third-place qualifier Argentina at 8 a.m. EST also on August 3.
Slovenia, winner of Group C will matchup against Germany, the other third-place qualifier Monday August 2 at 9 p.m EST.
The semifinals will take place August 5 will pit the winner of Slovenia/Germany against the winner of France/Italy, while the other semi will feature the victor of the US/Spain and the winner of Argentina/Australia.
The medal games are scheduled for August 7.
