The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Nelson Kipkemboi of Benedict College and Kassie Jordan of Benedict College were named this week’s men and women Track Performers of the Week, alongside Joshua Brimmer of Benedict College and Sadrea Mabry of Savannah State collected this week’s men and women Field Performers of the Week honor.
Women’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Kassie Jordan, Benedict College
Jordan finished 1st place in the 400 meter run at the Myrtle Beach Spring Challenge. Jordan is currently ranked #1 in the SIAC for the event, with a time of 1:00.47.
Field Performer of the Week – Sadrea Mabry, Savannah State
Sadrea Mabry won the triple jump event for Savannah State at the GATA Classic this weekend, hosted by Georgia Southern. Sadrea beat a field of NCAA Division I and Division II players with a personal best 11.82m jump.
Men’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Nelson Kipkemboi, Benedict College
Nelson finished 4th overall in the 10,000 meter run, setting a new personal best of 33:27.32. He is currently ranked #1 in the SIAC.
Field Performer of the Week – Joshua Brimmer, Benedict College
Brimmer set a new personal best in the Hammer Throw event, throwing 45.35m (148ft, 9 inches). He is currently ranked #1 in the SIAC.
