Albany State goes down to GA Southwestern in extra innings

The Albany State University Golden Rams 9-game winning streak was snapped as they lost a close game in extra innings to the Georgia Southwestern University Hurricanes on Tuesday.  The Golden Rams are now 21-8 (20-3 in the SIAC) while the Hurricanes improved to 15-21. 

The Golden Rams scored in the top of the 1stinning when Lachlan Ross singled up the middle to score TJ Thomas.  In the 2nd inning, Hill Corley scored on a single by Lavoisier Fisher to give the Golden Rams a (2-0) lead.  Later in the inning, Tucker Jordan scored on a wild pitch to give the Golden Rams a (3-0) advantage. 

The Hurricanes would respond as they scored a run in the 2nd, 3rd and 6th inning to tie the score at (3-3).  The game will remain tied until the bottom of the 10th inning when Anthony Angelino singled up the middle to score Miles Hartsfield for the game winning run.

The Golden Rams finished the game with 3 runs, 8 hits and 1 error while the Hurricanes managed to score 4 runs on 7 hits with 3 errors.

The Golden Rams will host Benedict College for a 3-game series on April 15-16.  The first pitch is scheduled at 6:00 pm on Friday.  The Golden Rams “Senior Day” is scheduled on Saturday, April 16.
