Tennessee State takes care of Western Illinois, 87-69

Tennessee State turned in a strong performance on the glass, turned 19 WIU turnovers into 33 points, and scored 39 points off the bench in an 87-69 defeat of Western Illinois Thursday night.  Although the Tennessee State didn’t have their shooting eye in the first half, shooting just 38.9 in the game’s opening half, the Tigers hit the glass and turned defense into offense. TSU pounded the glass, grabbing 10 offensive rebounds, which they turned into 13 points, and forced 11 turnovers, scoring 18 points off those Western Illinois miscues and taking a 38-33 halftime lead. …

Lady Tigers rally in second half to claim 70-66 win over Western Illinois

The Jimmy Butler saga has mercifully come to an end. The disgruntled star was sent to the Golden State Warriors in a deal that involved the Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, and the Miami Heat. The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma.  As part of the deal, guard AJ Johnson and a draft pick are also heading to the nation’s capital, while forward Patrick Baldwin Jr and a second-round pick. Tuesday morning it was announced that Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson has earned a spot on the Women’s College All-Star Game Midseason Watchlist presented by Herbalife.  The watchlist is comprised of players who appear to be on the path to continue to play the game at the professional level.
