In the Lakers’ recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a 111-102 Lakers win, LeBron James laced up the “Christ the King” LeBron XXII PEs. Made for the basketball team of the Queens, New York high school, they sport a gold nubuck upper with a yellow leather underlay forming the outline of the lateral side Swoosh and wrapping to the medial side.  Gold also takes care of the LeBron signature at the rear heel, with maroon showing up on the small Swoosh on the medial forefoot, and the LeBron XXII logo…

L.A. Dodgers-inspired Kobe slides coming this spring

Following in the vein of the “L.A. Dodgers” Kobe VI Protro, Nike is preparing to release similarly themed Kobe slides.  They sport an all-Dodger blue look with a snake-scaled overstrap that features a silver Kobe logo. A cushy branded midsole/footbed and blue rubber outsole round things out.  They are set to debut this spring.

In the Los Angeles Laker’s recent game against New Orleans, LeBron James wore an alternate version of the “I Promise” LeBron XXII PE.  They sport a volt upper that transitions into a vibrant blue. Volt piping forms the outline of the large Swoosh on the lateral side as well as the LeBron signature that wraps the rear heel. Take a look at the “UNC Reimagined” Air Jordan I High OG

With this upcoming Air Jordan I High OG, the “UNC” colorway gets the reimagined treatment.  They sport a white leather foundational layer overlaid with university blue at the toe, eye rows, flanking the ankles, and wrapping the heel. A white Wings logo has its home on the lateral ankle, while the sides are adorned with university blue Swooshes.  University blue also stands in for the “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue, as well as at the inner.  Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a sail midsole that adds a vintage aesthetic…

Tennessee State’s Sanders Ellis hits the transfer portal (again)

According to Pete Nakos of On3sports, Tennessee State freshman linebacker Sanders Ellis has entered the transfer portal.  This is the second time this offseason season that Ellis has entered the transfer portal. He initially entered the portal In December, shortly after Tennessee State was defeated 41-27 by Montana in the FCS Playoffs.  The Nashville, TN native paid immediate dividends once injuries thrust him into the starting lineup, recording 86 total tackles( 59 solos, 27 assisted), 15.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 3 fumble recoveries. . In a recent game, Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan laced up the “Brave Blue” colorway of the Kobe IX Low. They sport a knit upper that features swaths of blues, the sides adorned with 3M Swooshes. Bowling Green reportedly targeting Eddie George to be their next head coach

According to reporting from Pete Thamel of ESPN, Tennessee State head coach Eddie George is being targeted by Bowling Green to fill their head coach vacancy after the departure of head coach Scott Loeffler. Loeffler abruptly left the program on February 28 after six seasons, compiling a 27-41 record and leading the Falcons to bowl games the past three seasons to become quarterbacks coach with the Philadelphia Eagles.  Coach George has helmed the Tennessee State program for the past four seasons. Tennessee State comes up short in OVC semis, 71-69 to SIUE

image via Tennessee State Basketball Tennessee State’s comeback bid fell short as they were defeated 71-69 by SIUE in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Friday evening, heartbreakingly ending the Tigers’ season.  The opening minutes of the contest was a back-and-forth affair that featured 2 ties and 6 lead changes before SIUE took a 10-9 lead on a Myles Thompson jump hook at the 15:28 mark.  The Cougars seized control of the half, building as much as a 12-point lead and ultimately taking a 42-32 lead into halftime.…

Tennessee State defeats Lindenwood 69-55 in OVC Quarters
