Chicago Bulls sign Talen Horton Tucker to a partially guaranteed contract

According to reporting from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Chicago Bulls have signed free agent guard Talen Horton Tucker to a partially guaranteed contract.  Charania adds that THT will have the opportunity to make the team.  Horton-Tucker could have his work somewhat cut out for him, as the Bulls’ roster is chock full of guards, including Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Leroy Carter, recently acquired Josh Giddey, and Chris Duarte, the returning Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine is still on the roster.  After being taken with the 50th overall pick by…

Norfolk State’s Terron Mallory named HBCU Defensive Back of the Week

title image via Norfolk State Athletics Wednesday afternoon, Norfolk State’s Terron Mallory was named the HBCU Defensive Back of the Week by the Jim Thorpe Awards. Though the Spartans got it handed to them 42-3 by the Pirates of East Carolina, despite forcing six turnovers, Mallory had himself a game. Teased by Vanessa Bryant earlier this year, this Air Force 1Low is reportedly inspired by Kobe Bryant’s sneaker free agency during the 2002-03 season. In the Indiana Fever’s highly anticipated game with the Chicago Sky, Caitlin Clark broke out a new Kobe VI Protro PE. In a performance that would have brought a smile to their namesake, dropped a career-high 31 points and dropped 12 dimes in the Fever’s 100-81 thumping of Chicago Sky Friday night.  Clark’s Kobe VI Protro sports light blue scales situated atop a similarly colored and white upper. Owned by Michael Jordan’s brother-in-law, Carlos Prieto, Miami, FL-based boutique SoleFly is continuing its collaborative relationship with Jordan Brand with this upcoming Air Jordan 12.  An initial image of the “SoleFly” Air Jordan 12 has come to light.  This upcoming Jordan 12 sports a white ribbed leather upper with violet mudguards on both sides. This duo of Kobe VIII player exclusives was made with the Phoenix Mercury in mind. One pair features an orange engineered mesh upper with a purple Swoosh on the lateral side, with similarly presented, but smaller branding on the medial ankle. North Carolina Central’s J’Mari Taylor named BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week
