In this celebration of on-court successes, Spring Hill’s Isaiah Veal was named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Albany State’s Blaise Wallace took home the title of Men’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week. Courtesy of the Southwestern Athletic Conference The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Zaay Green and Bethune-Cookman’s O’Mariyah Tucker its SWAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for their impressive performances during games played this past week.   Player  Green notched her third triple-double of the season with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field versus FAMU. She tallied 10 rebounds, and 11 assists during UAPB’s win over Florida A&M. The triple-double moved Green to 2nd in the nation in that category. NBA ref speaks on Chauncey Billups ejection

Courtesy of Fan Recap NBA Referee Crew Chief Bill Kennedy has responded to inquiries after an incident involving the ejection of Portland Trail Blazers Coach Chauncey Billups during Tuesday’s game. The Blazers lost 111-109 to the Oklahoma City Thunder after Billups received two technical fouls with 15.1 seconds remaining.  The situation unfolded when Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon was trapped in the frontcourt, causing Billups to call a timeout that went unnoticed by the referees.
