DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Rev. Isadore Williams, whose booming voice has been long-standing tradition at Bethune-Cookman football, will be honored Saturday when the Wildcats host Alabama State for homecoming at Daytona Stadium.

Rev. Williams is stepping down from his role as a public address announcer, a position he’s held since being on a student on campus in 1975.

His trademark opening — “Who Will Ascend to the Top of the Mountain” – has been a part of over 230 games during his memorable run.

A native of Lake City, Fla., Rev. Williams also served as a long-time radio play-by-play for the Lake City Columbia High School football team. He also served as the longtime pastor of the historic Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lake City.
