Florida A&M’s Isaiah Martin signs with CSM Galati

Romanian basketball team CSM Galati signed former FAMU center and alum Isaiah Martin. In the three games Martin played in the Eurobasket Summer league, considered the top international summer league, he averaged 5.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals per contest. In the 18 games he played for the Rattlers, Martin put up 9.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game and was named to the National Association of Black Coaches (NABC) NCAA D1 All-Dsitrict Team.

Kentucky State’s David Jelks signs with Argentinian pro basketball team

Jelks (Conyers, GA) becomes the third Thorobred in the Jamaal Jackson era to sign a professional basketball contract. He signed with Tomas de Rocamore of LaLiga Argentina, and is currently the only American on the roster.  They finished 11th in the South Division a season ago. The Delta Devils had their first full inter squad scrimmage of the season this Saturday during the team’s practice. Head football coach Vincent Dancy seemed to be cautiously optimistic about what he saw on the field. Here is what he had to say post-practice : “Overall, it wasn’t bad.
