Albany State gives Morehouse first loss of season 41-19

Albany State’s quarterback Kelias Williams had a career day. He completed 16 of 18 passes  for a career high 254 yards and three touchdowns as the Golden Rams defeated Morehouse 41-19, giving the Marron Tigers their first loss of the season. Albany State took a 3-0 lead on Gabriel Ballinas’ 47-yard field goal with 2:47 left in the first quarter. Tuskegee defeats Fort Valley 17-6

The Tuskegee Golden Tigers earned a hard fought victory at Wildcat Stadium 17-6. It was the home team Fort Valley that got the scoring going late in the opening quarter when Abisai Gutierrez knocked through a 33-yard field goal to put the Wildcats up 3-0. Tuskegee took the lead on their first possession of the second quarter when Ahmad Deramus connected with Kendall Calvin for a four yard touchdown pass. It was Calvin’s first touchdown of the season. Miles spoils Kentucky State’s Homecoming with last second score

Miles College scored the go ahead touchdown with just three seconds remaining in the game to lift the Golden Bears to a 24-21 win and spoil Kentucky State’s homecoming. Just sixty seconds prior Kentucky State had taken its first lead of the game on quarterback Jules St. Ge’s elecrifying, tackle breaking 39-yard touchdown run, the third touchdown he accounted for on the day. Morehouse v Albany State pushed back to Sunday due to Hurricane Micheal

Morehouse’s (6-0, 2-0 SIAC) athletics department announced earlier today that its SIAC eastern division opening game versus Albany State(3-3, 2-0 SIAC) that was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 13 has been pushed back to Sunday, October 14 because of the damage in Albany caused by Hurricane Michael. Kickoff will now be at 1:00 p.m. EST at B.T. Harvey Stadium on Morehouse’s campus. The contest will also be streamed live on FloSports, with the pregame starting at 12:45.

Albany State defeats Catawba College 35-21

The Albany State offense racked up 500 yards of total offense on their way to squaring their record at 3-3 by defeating Catawba College 35-21 at Shuford Stadium in Salisbury, North Carolina. The Golden Rams offense came out of the gate razor sharp, scoring on their first two possessions.
