SIAC Announces 2023 Softball All-Conference Team

Courtesy of the SIAC The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its 2023 softball all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors. Lane’s Millay Lambert headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2023 SIAC Player of the Year and Utility Player of the Year. Albany State softball opens up SIAC Tournament against Miles

The Albany State University softball team finished the season with a 5-14 overall record and 16-6 within the SIAC. AS a result of their onfield exploits the GOlden Rams secured the #2seed in the upcoming SIAC Softball Tournament, for which ASU is the host school, will commence Tuesday, May 2. Albany State baseball sweeps Spring Hill, secures #1 seed in SIAC tourney

Albany State siftball to host arch-rival Fort Valley State

This weekend Albany State softball ( 21-13, 14-5) will host Fort Valley State ( 15-18, 9-9) in a three-game series. Saturday the two squads will square off in a doubleheader, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 pm EST. Sunday’s action will commence at 1 PM EST. The Golden Rams and the WIldcats last met on May 6 2022, with Albany State coming away with a 5-1 victory.

Albany State baseball boat raced by Auburn University at Montgomery, 13-3

It was a tough day on the diamond for Albany State baseball, as they took a 13-3 donkey-kicking from the Warhawks of Auburn University Wednesday night at the AUM Baseball Complex in Montgomery, Alabama. The Golden Rams found themselves in a 6-0 hole after just one inning of play in a frame that saw them give up the first run of the game before the Warhawks got their first hit of the night, as four of the first AUM batters reached base via walks. Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Golden Rams tennis team defeated Point University (7-0) this afternoon at the ASU West Campus Tennis Complex.  The Golden Rams improved to (13-4) overall while the Skyhawks fell to (1-8) overall. In doubles play, Natalya Ogunwale and Asia Raulerson won their match (6-1).  Allyah Williams Sumana Panauganti defeated their opponents (7-5).  Bianca Leao and Carla Sorroche won their match by default. In singles, Natalya Ogunwale won her match (6-1 & 6-3).  Bianca Leao  won (6-1 & 6-1).  Carla Sorroche won her match (6-1 & 6-1).  Allyah Williams and Sumana Panauganti won their respective matches by default.
