Central State beats Clark-Atlanta 7-0 in muddy battle

It was a rainy, windy day in Wilberforce, Ohio. The center of McPerson Stadium , grass was once present, became a muddy quagmire that bogged down both offenses. The conditions limited the teams to less than 300 yards of offense between them ( 155 for Clark-Atlanta and 100 for Central State) and only 14 first downs ( 10 for CAU and only 4 for CSU) in the game. Although it was pretty at times, North Carolina A&T managed to hang on to defeat Jacksonville State, 20-17 in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff. Aggies’ quarterback Lamar Raynard did not look like himself and struggled, completing only 12 of his 34 passes for 111 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
