The former Grambling coach was named the Assistant General Manager ( Recruiting Operations Coordinator ) at Georgia State University.  Jackson was most recently the head coach at Grambling State. Two-time SWAC DPOY Angel Jackson signs with Italian team

The career of Angel Jackson will continue across the pond.  Former Jackson State center signed a contract with Italian team Faenza Women’s Basketball. Faenza competes in Serie A, Lega Basket Femminile, which is Italy’s premier women’s basketball league.   Faenza ended the 2023-24 campaign with a 6-21 record.  Jackson started her collegiates career at USC before transferring to Jackson State for her final two amateur seasons. SWAC extends contract of Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland through 2032

The extension which will run through 2032 academic year, wasannounced on Friday afternoon. “Over the course of the past five years the SouthwesternAthletic Conference has made significant strides towards becoming one of the most widely recognized and visibleathletic conferences in the country,” said SWAC Council of Presidents and Chancellors Chairman Quinton T. Alcorn could be looking at former Stephen F. Austin baseball coach

Austin coach Johnny Cardenas as its head baseball coach to replace Reggie Williams, who was shown the door after three seasons. After 16 seasons at the helm of the Stephen F. Austin baseball program, Coach Cardenas announced his retirement, which is to take effect on 31 July 2024. In his time leading Lumberjacks baseball, he recorded three 30+ win seasons.
