Up next, the CIAA Student-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors, features on Qahir Girard of Virginia State University. Girard is a senior football student-athlete from Morrow, GA. He is a business management major with a 3.28 grade point average.

Athletic Accomplishments:

Football – a member of 2017 CIAA Football Championship team

Football – a member of 2017 NCAA Atlantic Region Playoff team

Something unique most people wouldn’t know about you: 

“Something unique about me is my work ethic and my overall will to not be outworked.”

Your goals or plans after finishing school:

“My goal after graduation is to pursue my master’s degree in either project management or public health.”

Your greatest inspiration:

I find inspiration in the following quote by Malcolm X, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

What do you love the most about being a student-athlete your school?

“One thing I enjoy most about VSU is its versatility and everything that the faculty, staff and coaches do to ensure your success.”
