Dover, Del. (Feb. 2, 2023) —Delaware State University football has announced that 15  recruits, including three NCAA Div. I transfers and a former junior college standout, have signed to attend the University and compete for the Hornets beginning in the 2023 season. The list includes four receivers,  three offensive lineman, four defensive backs, a running back, two defensive linemen and a long snapper.

Among the incoming Hornets is defensive end / outside linebacker Anton Ricumstrict (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.), a transfer from the University of Buffalo of the NCAA FBS Mid-America Conference (MAC) and former Michigan high school star.

Former Lafayette College letterwinners Jaden Sutton (RB; Winston Salem, N.C.) and Jordan Hull (WR; Zionsville, Ind.) will also join the Hornets next season.  Sutton was an All-Patriot League Second Team selection after rushing for nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns for the Leopards in 2021. He was second on the team with 332 rushing yards during the 2022 season and tallied 1,400 yards as a senior at  Glenn High School in North Carolina.

Hull, son of the Hornets’ coach, competed for Lafayette since 2019, including the Covid affected 2021 spring and fall seasons. He played in three games in 2022 and appeared in seven contests in 2019, catching 12 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown that year.

The Hornets have also inked former Monterey Peninsula JC (Cal.) defense back Amir Anderson of Oxon Hill, Md. Listed at 6-2 and 195 pounds, Anderson is expected to have an immediate impact in the secondary.

Delaware State addressed needs along the offensive line with the addition of Maryland high school stars Kenion Camphor (Laurel, Md.), Takai Wallace (Brandywine, Md.), and Ebubedike Nnabugwau (Baltimore, Md.), who will compete to replace All-MEAC performer Dillon Marshall at the starting center position for the Hornets.

In addition to Anderson, other defensive backs accepting offers from the Hornets are Cape Henlopen High School product  Keishawn Mansfield (Lewes, Del.), along with Dillon Ashton Davis-Dixon (Pine Hill, N.J.) and Christian Garrett (Washington, D.C.).

In addition to Hull, Delaware State’s receiver position will be bolstered by the signings of Kyree Benton (Baltimore, Md.), Malcolm Stansbury (Edison, N.J.) and Kristian Tate (Bowie, Md.).
Semisi Faingataa, a defensive lineman from San Bernadino, Cal., and Red Lion Academy’s Carter Rasin, a long snapper from Bear, Del., will also join the Hornets next season.

“I believe we addressed some needs with this class as I continue to access our roster,” said Coach Hull. “I’m extremely pleased with the quality of players who have committed to our program. The young men we have signed for next season are good athletes with the potential to contribute right away. I’m equally impressed with the character and academic credentials of these young men. Each should be a good fit for the team and the university.”
