LeBron James is making his latest move in the sports-betting and prediction-market space.

The NBA superstar has partnered with Polymarket in a new endorsement agreement that will focus primarily on football, according to Front Office Sports. The partnership comes shortly after James’ previous endorsement deal with DraftKings expired earlier this summer. (Front Office Sports)

James teased the new relationship Saturday by posting a short video on social media showing him arriving at what appeared to be Polymarket headquarters.

“Welcome to Polymarket HQ. Coming soon,” James wrote, adding that the post was “In partnership with @Polymarket.”

The teaser quickly generated millions of views, with Front Office Sports reporting that it had nearly 10 million views within seven hours. A larger campaign featuring James is expected to launch this week.

From DraftKings to Polymarket

The move represents a shift from a traditional sportsbook partnership to the increasingly prominent prediction-market industry.

James originally joined DraftKings in 2024 as a talent ambassador, with his role centered around football and select major sporting events.

His new Polymarket partnership appears to follow a similar football-centered strategy, although the exact financial terms and structure of the agreement have not been publicly disclosed.

It also places one of the biggest names in sports directly alongside a prediction-market company at a time when the industry is rapidly expanding — and facing increased scrutiny from regulators and state officials.

Why Football?

Football has long been one of James’ biggest interests outside of basketball, making the focus of the partnership a natural fit.

His previous DraftKings agreement also centered heavily on football, and Polymarket appears poised to use James’ massive audience to introduce more sports fans to its prediction-market platform.

The partnership arrives as prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi increasingly compete with traditional sportsbooks for sports-related engagement.

The legal landscape surrounding sports prediction markets remains unsettled, however, with regulators and states continuing to debate whether sports-event contracts should be treated as financial products or gambling.

A New Chapter for LeBron

For James, the Polymarket agreement represents another major business move as he enters the next chapter of his NBA career.

It also demonstrates the growing value of athletes as brands capable of crossing between sports, entertainment, technology and financial platforms.

The biggest question now is what Polymarket has planned for James once the full campaign launches.
