Legendary rapper’s son heading to an HBCU

The son of one of the most legendary rap duos is now an HBCU man. 

Cross Patton the son of Big Boi of Outkast, committed to Bethune-Cookman University, according to a post on his Instagram account.

After a high school career that concluded with running for 314 yards and 5 touchdowns on 60 carries and garnering an honorable mention All-Region 4-AAAA selection as a Senior, the Woodward Academy (College Park, GA) product began his collegiate career at the University of Oregon. 

Patton was redshirted and appeared in a pair of contests during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. Following this Patton transferred to Nevada, however in a crowded Wolfpack backfield he appeared in 10 games in two seasons, recording 23 carries for 68 yards. 

Patton joins a Bethune-Cookman team that last season was only the 9th most proficient rushing attack in the SWAC, averaging 125.5 yards per game, and the 3.4 yards per carry was tied for 10th in the conference.
