LANGSTON – Langston University Director of Athletics Donnita Rogers is pleased to announce the tournament schedule for the upcoming Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic which will be held at the USA Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla. on March 3-4, 2023.
This year’s event will showcase 15 colleges and Universities from across the country including four HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in Langston University, Arkansas Baptist College, Benedictine College, Bethel College, Hastings College, Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian College, McPherson College, Mid-America Christian University, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Ottawa University, Saint Mary’s of the Woods College and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
First pitch starts at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, when Mid-America Christian University faces McPherson College on OG&E Energy Field. Each day will feature a total of 15 games on three fields and for a total of 30 games for the tournament.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with USA Softball to host this tournament at the premier softball facility in the United States, it has always been our dream to encourage young minority girls of all ages to play softball,” Langston University Director of Athletics Donnita Rogers noted. “This classic was the brainchild of our former head softball coach, Hosea Bell, over seven years ago and we look forward to continuing his legacy by hosting this tournament every year.”
Visitors can purchase a $30 weekend pass at the gate or online at www.langstonsports.com which gives them access to 30 games over the two-day period. Attendees can also purchase tickets individually per day for $20.
