It was an up-and-down day for Albany State basketball against Allen University as the Golden Rams split their matchup with the Yellow Jackets. The men’s team were victorious 74-64, while the ASU women came up short in overtime 66-59. Jordan Simpson lead the way for men, putting in 20 points and grabbing 11 boards. Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown , ASU Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams were swept by the Clark-Atlanta Panthers on Monday at the ASU East Campus.   In the women’s game, the Panthers won 62-61.  The Panthers jumped out to a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  But, the Golden Rams outscored the Panthers 18-6 in the 2nd quarter.  At the half, the Golden Rams led 32-26. Albany State splits double header with Fort Valley

Courtesy Albany State University Athletics: After leading 44-43 at the end of the 3rdquarter, the Golden Rams exploded in the 4thquarter to escape Fort Valley with a 65-55 win over the Wildcats.  The Golden Rams have now won 5 out of their last 6 games. The Golden Rams only shot 33.3% from the field and 28% from the 3-point line in the game.  But, the Golden Rams pressure defense forced the Wildcats into committing 24 turnovers. The Golden Rams recipe to success continued today as their scored 30 points in the paint…

Albany State Women’s Hoops falls 63-60 to West Georgia

From ASU Golden Rams : In their final game of the year, the Albany State Golden Rams were defeated by the West Georgia Wolves 63-60. The Golden Rams started hot and led 19-9 at the end of the 1st quarter.  The Golden Rams increased their lead to as many as 14 points in the 2nd quarter and led 36-29 at the half. The Golden Rams only scored 6 points in the 3rd quarter and were outscored 16-6 by the Wolves.  Entering the 4th quarter, the Golden Rams trailed by 3 points.  The teams traded baskets throughout…
