Austin Reaves Passes on Max Deal—Plans to Test Free Agency in 2026

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reeves declined a max level extention from the team earlier this week, according to Dan Woike, who covers the team for The Athletic.  The team offered Reeves a 4-year, maximum extension worth $89.2 miilion but declined the offer. Last night during the Los Angeles Sky and Chicago Sky matchup, the Sky’s Rebecca Allen and Rickea Jackson of the Sparks were battling for position on a rebound and Jackson took exception to the level of physicality Allen brought on the play. The Kevin Durant trade saga has finally come to an end. KD was traded to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillion Brooks, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft and a whopping 5 second round draft picks, per Shams Charania.  Durant, although 36 years old, enjoyed another statistically Impressive season, posting per game averages of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks on .527/.430/.839 splits. In a conversation with the Knicks’ Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson, A’ja Wilson was asked if she could beat Hart in a one-on-one matchup.
