Kevin Durant plans to opt out contract and restructure deal with Golden State

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Kevin Durant will opt out his current deal with the Golden State Warriors and enter unrestricted free agency. However it seems unlikely this is to be courted by other teams, as this is to allow him to restructure a new deal with the Warriors. The two-year,$51 million contract Durant signed last offseason allowed Golden State to hang on to Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala. “His gesture of taking less gave us the ability to be very aggressive in pursuing Shaun and Andre,” Warriors general manager…

When the NBA Finals reconvenes Monday, Draymond Green and I will have the same vantage point for taking in the action- in front of the television. That is because the Warriors’ power forward was suspended after being hit with a flagrant-1 for his actions in Game 4. After not only dropping both games at Oracle, in particularly embarrassing fashion game 2, I wondered how the Cavaliers would respond by returning home for game 3. The Cavaliers took control from the tip off the strength of a dominant first quarter and never looked back. After, getting worked in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Finals, it was expected that the Cleveland Cavaliers would come out with a much better effort in what was tantamount to a must win game. After being on the receiving end of two beat downs from the world champion Golden State Warriors, not people thinking the Rockets can even be competitive with the Warriors, much less win a game. Well, it appears the graphics department at TNT feels that way.
