According to James Larson of Pro Football Newsroom, D.C. Defenders head coach Shannon Harris is now listed as the Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach at Tennessee State University.  A trip to the football coaches page on the Tennessee State athletics website does reveal that Harris is indeed listed as the Tigers’ Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach. The Southwestern Athletic Conference has unveiled their slate of games that will appear on ESPN’s linear and digital platform for the 2025 football season.  The 14-game docket kicks off with North Carolina taking on Southern in the 2025 Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Saturday, August 23. SWAC Spring Meeting Concludes: All Teams Opt In on NCAA settlement

The Southwestern Athletic Conference concluded its Annual Spring Meetings last Friday and Saturday.  Most notable of the key topics discussed by SWAC membership administrators was the recent House v. NCAA settlement. The landmark agreement allows for institutions to make direct payments stemming primarily from NIL activities; it also sets aside $2.8 billion to retroactively compensate athletes who competed from 2016-2024. Tennessee State’s Sanders Ellis hits the transfer portal (again)

According to Pete Nakos of On3sports, Tennessee State freshman linebacker Sanders Ellis has entered the transfer portal.  This is the second time this offseason season that Ellis has entered the transfer portal. He initially entered the portal In December, shortly after Tennessee State was defeated 41-27 by Montana in the FCS Playoffs.  The Nashville, TN native paid immediate dividends once injuries thrust him into the starting lineup, recording 86 total tackles( 59 solos, 27 assisted), 15.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 3 fumble recoveries.
