Tennessee State defeats UT Martin 77-61 to end 10-game skid

On the strength of their best shooting night of the season, the Tennessee State Lady Tigers defeated the Skyhawks of UT Martin 77-61 to end their 10-game losing streak but also notched their first OVC win of the season.  The first quarter was largely a back-and-forth affair that featured 9 lead changes and 5 ties. Norfolk State’s Diamond Johnson named World Exposure Report Player of the Week

The list of accolades for Norfolk State’s Diamond Johnson continues to grow longer. The graduate guard was named the World Exposure Report Player of the Week.  Johnson helped the Lady Spartans to a 2-0 week, recording 24 points, 8 steals, 7 rebounds, and 5 rebounds in their 77-69 win over Morgan State. In Norfolk State’s 124-51 obliteration of Virginia-Lynchburg Johnson scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, assists, and 3 steals in just 26 minutes, her shortest workday on the hardwood this season.  Johnson leads the MEAC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points…

The wildfires that have raged in Los Angeles have displaced so many and caused damages that could soar into the billions of dollars. Vanessa Bryant and the Mamba Foundation are pitching in to help those who were victims of the wildfires by providing them with free Kobes.  Over 8,000 pieces of footwear and apparel were given out to those in need at L.A. Eddie George to interview for Chicago Bears head coach opening

According to reporting from Mike Organ of The Tennessean, Tennessee State head coach Eddie George will interview with the Chicago Bears for their head coach vacancy.  Coaching in Chicago would not be unfamiliar territory for the NFL great. In 2023 Coach George was a transitory member of the Bears coaching staff as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.  George has helmed the Tennessee State program for four seasons.
