PE Corner: Sabrina 2s fit for a gold medalist

This iteration of the Sabrina 2 was made for New York Liberty star and newly minted Olympic gold medalist Sabrina Ionescu.  They sport a vibrant red mesh upper adorned on the lateral side with a golden Swoosh;’smaller such branding appears on the medial side, below the ankle, along with a matching Sabrina logo on the tongue.  Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a red midsole and a navy-tinted translucent rubber outsole.  Right now, there is no indication of a retail journey in the works for these, but we wouldn’t be upset…

Another new colorway of the Ja 2

A new colorway the yet-to-be-released Nike Ja 2 has emerged.  It sports blue leather at its upper, underlaid at the toe with black mesh. On the majority of the medial side lives a patterned red mesh with a sculpted collar and black Swoosh.  The black Swoosh on the lateral side is surrounded by a near-concentric pattern, while under the ribbed white rear heel appears “12 AM.” Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a white midsole with a Ja logo on the rear heel, while on the medial side reads “Kaari”, “Teniya”,…

We recently highlighted Jewell Loyd rocking a red iteration of the “USA” Kobe IV Protro in Olympic action and now fellow Olympian and two-time NBA Champion Jrue Holiday was spotted in a white-based iteration of these Kobes.  Its white upper is spread across a combination of leather and FlyWire-equipped side panels. Tyrese Haliburton was seen in a navy-based iteration of the Sabrina 2 and the sneaker’s namesake herself took to the court in a predominantly white look.  It sports a largely white mesh upper with metallic red Swooshes on the lateral and medial sides. A closer look at the “Halo” Nike Kobe IX Elite Protro

The “Halo” Kobe IX Elite Protro is a new colorway of the well-received Kobe IX Elite that is slated to release this summer. Conceived as a tribute to the late, great Kobe Bryant, these sport an angelic all-white Flyknit upper with all branding and markings also appearing in white. Las Vegas Aces star and current Olympian Aja Wilson unveiled a Player Exclusive edition of the LeBron XXI. The USA themed sneaker sports a white upper with a navy bordered red portion that forms the shape Swoosh on the lateral side. Navy also shows up on the LeBron signature on the lateral side. LeBron unveils new colorway of the LeBron XXII

The U.S. Men’s National Basketball opened up Olympic pool play against Serbia on Sunday. In the game, which the U.S. won, 110-84, LeBron James broke out a new colorway of his yet-to-be-released LeBron XXII. They sport a navy upper with a red-bordered white overlay that forms the shape of a Swoosh on the lateral side. Red shows up at the inner, tongue backing, LeBron’s signature on the heel  A white midsole and navy rubber outsole complete the aesthetic.  As it currently stands it is not yet known if these will see a retail release.  Images via talksole

Ja Morant’s special edition Hall of Fame Ja 2

Ja Morant was recently inducted into the Murray State Hall of Fame Nike helped him do so in style, hooking him up with a special-editon iteration of his yet-to-be-released Ja 2. They appear to make use of a grey and light blue color palette with what looks like a claw scratch pattern spread throughtout the upper. At Team USA’s practice on Thursday, LeBron James broke out the next evolution of his signature line, the LeBron XXII. Outfitted in USA colors it sports a white upper with a red-bordered navy section on both sides that forms a Swoosh on the lateral side.
