From goldentigersports : Two weeks before facing Alabama State in its season opening game in Montgomery, The Tuskegee University football team held its first scrimmage Saturday morning, working just over two hours at Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium. The Golden Tigers were able to get a good evaluation of where they are after the first full week of camp. TU will be off on Sunday before returning to the practice field Monday afternoon. They will hold their final scrimmage next Saturday. COLUMBIA, S.C. — Benedict College senior defensive back Traviontae Brown has been named to the preseason watch list for the Black College Football Hall of Fame Deacon Jones Trophy. The 48-player list is composed of 16 players from the MEAC, 13 from the SWAC, 10 from the CIAA, eight from the SIAC, and one from a non-HBCU conference.
