Allen University’s Beau Harrington and Terrance Harrington named to All-SIAC Preseason Team

Courtesy of Allen Athletics Among the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Preseason All-SIAC selections, senior running back Beau Herrington and senior offensive lineman Terrence Jarrett each were named to the Preseason All-SIAC Second Team Tuesday morning. Additionally, Allen was voted 11th in the SIAC’s predicted order of finish for the 2024 season.  Herrington, who is entering his fourth season as the primary running back for the Yellow Jackets, is coming-off a 2023 campaign that saw him lead Allen with 640 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 147 rushing attempts. A pair of Golden Rams will take part in HBCU All-Star Dream Classic

title image via Albany State Athletics Albany State guard Reggie James and forward Jordan Simpson were selected to take part in the HBCU All-Star Dream Classic.  James, a 6’4” senior guard out of Trenton, NJ appeared in 20 games, 5 starts, and averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per contest. His season-high 13 points came in a 67-65 win over Edward Waters on January 13.  Simpson was the Golden Rams’ leading rebounder, pulling down 10.9 boards per contest, with a season-best 17 coming in 79-77 nail iter…

Shun Brown promoted to Lane College offensive coordinator

title image via Lane Athletics Lane College announced that wide receivers and tight ends coach/ passing game coordinator Shun Brown has been promoted to the Dragons’ offensive coordinator.  Before coming to Lane, Coach Brown spent a season at Louisiana-Monroe, where he served as an offensive analyst under Rich Rodriguez. Allen University XC receives team award, more than 6 dozen athletes earned Conference All-Academic Honours

Courtesy of the SIAC  The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognized 1,127 student-athletes for their academic excellence Wednesday, including 76 student-athletes from Allen University. Among the highlights, Allen’s Women’s Cross Country team was awarded the SIAC’s Team Award for posting a 3.37 cumulative grade point average as a team, the highest among their SIAC foes.  The SIAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team features student-athletes who earned a 3.2 or better cumulative grade point average for the past academic year. Albany State football makes waves with top-20 D-II transfer class
