TUSKEGEE, Ala. __Kusamae Draper of the Tuskegee men’s basketball team was named to the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-Off All-Tournament Team, announced over the weekend by the tournament media relations staff.
The sophomore claimed the honor after his performances in the two games played inside of the Mohegan Sun Arena against Winston-Salem State and Cheyney.
He averaged 17.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the two-game event over the weekend, helping Tuskegee go 1-1. The forward from Conyers, Ga., shot 44.0 percent (11-of-25) from the field and 85.7 percent (12-of-14) from the charity stripe over the last two games.
On the season, Draper is averaging a team-high 15.5 points, along with 3.5 rebounds per game in 22.8 minutes per contest.
The 6-for-9, 210-pounder tallied 11 points, three rebounds and one assist in the season opener against Union, followed by 17 points and four rebounds on the road at Shorter in the South Regional Crossover. He then followed the performance with 12 points and two rebounds against Winston-Salem State and ending with a career-high 22 points along with five rebounds and two assists in the win over Cheyney.
Draper and Tuskegee (1-3) resume play on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., hosting Talladega inside of the Daniel “Chappie” James Center, live on the Golden Tiger Sports Network.
