Gilbert was named to the All-MEAC First Team on Thursday, as the conference unveiled its postseason honorees at the 2023 MEAC Volleyball Championship Banquet. Prairie View employee killed in on-campus shooting

The joyous and inquisitive nature of a college campus was shattered by gunshots. At approximately 9:30 A.M. Monday morning a Prairie View A&M campus employee was shot and killed by a former employee at the school’s Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch. The suspect was soon thereafter detained and , thankfully, no students were harmed, according to a statement issued by the university. Saturday evening Kelly Oubre Jr was hit by a vehicle as he was near his home. Oubre was taken to a local following the incident, but has been released from the hospital, according to reporting from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Kelly Oubre Jr. was struck by a vehicle in Philly

Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Center City, Philadelphia on Saturday evening. Team representatives are at Oubre’s bedside, including team president Daryl Morey. He is expected to miss significant time, however, the injuries he suffered are not considered to be season-ending. According to the club, Oubre was walking near his home in downtown Philadelphia when he was hit by the vehicle.
