Tennessee State women’s hoops spanked by Butler, 72-55

Courtesy of Tennessee State Athlefics INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Tennessee State women’s basketball team got a 22-point showing from the bench, but fell 72-55 to the Butler Bulldogs on the road Monday. The Lady Tigers (2-3) had two players score in double figures, led by Gia Adams, who had 14 points. Ashley Malone added 10 points and two steals off of the bench and Saniah Parker added nine points and two steals. Despite forcing 20 Rattlers turnovers , poor shooting and ball security issues of their own proved to be too much for Albany State to overcome as they were defeated 70-65 in overtime to Florida A&M Monday evening. The Golden Rams got off to a strong start against their D-1 foes, building an 9-point lead at 17-9 on Jamir Moore’s three pointer with 8:01 left in the opening half.
