MEAC announces 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Preseason Honors

Courtesy of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Howard sophomore guard Shy Odom was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Preseason Player of the Year, presented by TowneBank, the conference announced today. West Virginia State Men’s Hoops picked 4th on MEC Preseason Poll

The annual poll is voted on by the league’s head coaches. The Yellow Jackets finished fourth in the MEC standings last season with a 20-9 overall record and 14-8 conference record. Tennessee State Volleyball’s Kennedy Davis named DPOW for second time

Tennessee State’s Terrell Allen and Jordan Gant earn Big South-OVC honors

Courtesy of Tennessee State Athletics  Big South-OVC weekly honors this week after the Tigers’ 54-0 win against Lincoln as the league announced the honors on Monday morning. Terrell Allen was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Jordan Gant was named Freshman of the Week. Allen earned his second straight DPOTW award after finishing with seven tackles, 4.0 sacks, 4.0 TFLs, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
