Jackson State moved up a pair of spots to No. 15 in the Stats Perform FCS top 25 poll rankings. Jackson State Ahmad Miller named Co-National HBCU Player of the Week

Jackson State running back Ahmed Miller was named the Co-national HBCU Player of the Week. In the Tiger season opening win against Hampton Miller recorded 180 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 12 carries. One of those scores, a 2-yard touchdown run with five minutes and 32 seconds remaining in the game put Jackson State up 21 to 14, a lead that Jackson State would not relinquish. Jackson State listed at no. 17 AFCA FCS Top 25 Rankings

Defending SWAC and HBCU National Champion Jackson State opens the 2025 season ranked 17th in the AFCA FCS Top 25 Rankings.  Last season JSU recorded a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 record within the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Jackson State received a total of 200 votes. Jackson State defensive back Shemar Hawkins named to Aeneas Williams Award watch list

The Preseason Watch List for the fouth annual Aeneas Williams Award was released by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Presented by the Chicksaw Nation, the Aeneas Wiliams is presented to the best defensive back among Division I HBCU institutions, based on performance on the field, athletic ability and character.  Amongst the 15 players named to the watchlist Jackson State defensive back Shemar Hawkins. The SWAC announced the dates for its 2025 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Day. Prairie View A&M lands three-star running back

Three-star and class of 2026 running back Nicholas Tramble committed to Prairie View.
