NBA relaxes sneaker color restrictions for upcoming season

ESPN’s Nick DePaula has reported that league sources have confirmed that for the first time in NBA history, players will be allowed to wear sneakers of any color of their choice any time this coming season. The move is apparently part of the league’s continual effort to allow its players to be more expressive on the court ( as long as it doesn’t involve showing legitimate emotion I’m sure). While most of the attention ,and understandably so, surrounding the San Antonio Spurs centers around their beloved Manu Ginobili announcing his retirement earlier today, they did make an addition to their roster today without much fanfare. Former Golden State Warriors guard and current free agent Nick Young was arrested late Friday following a late night traffic stop. Los Angeles Police spokesman , Officer Mike Lopez told the Associated Press that Young was arrested for delaying an investigation, a misdemeanor. According to Lopez, Young allegedly did not obey orders, became upset and caused a delay. He was released on $10,000 bail later that night and the next court date is scheduled for September 19. North Carolina A&T defeats Jacksonville State University 20-17 in FCS Kickoff game

Although it was pretty at times, North Carolina A&T managed to hang on to defeat Jacksonville State, 20-17 in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff. Aggies’ quarterback Lamar Raynard did not look like himself and struggled, completing only 12 of his 34 passes for 111 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The University of North Carolina is having its basketball reunion tonight, bringing together former Tar Heels ball players from years past along with current players. Part of the evening’s festivities is the dedication of the basketball court to Coach Roy Williams. Teams in the Dean Dome will now hoop it up on Roy Williams Court.
