Stephen Curry signed sneakers of girl who died during basketball game

Kimberly Nuestro was a  Golden State Warriors fan and student at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. The 16-year old sophomore, and captain of her junior varsity basketball team, was playing a club basketball game last Saturday night when she passed out and was later pronounced dead Sunday at Stanford Medical Center. Her cause of death has yet to be determined. “When students and staff came to school on Monday, a ‘large percentage’ were sporting Warriors’ gear and dressed in blue and gold in honor of Kimberly”, said Homestead principal…

Stephen Curry raises $45,157 for Oakland fire victims

The December 2nd fire in Oakland at the Ghost Ship warehouse that tragically ended the lives of 36 people was indeed an unfortunate event. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has decided to pitch in to help the victims of this adverse situation. Curry auctioned off two pairs of game worn sneakers to help the victims of the fire.  According to the Warriors, the kicks , which were the “Oakland Strong” version of his Curry 3’s, Curry wore in their December 15th game against the New York Knicks. Game 7 :Cavs Win!

There will be so much yakking from the myriad of sports outlets about the 50+ year drought, talk of The Drive, The Fumble, The Shot and how the Cleveland sports curse has finally been broken. This will not be one of those pieces. The Cleveland Cavaliers did complete a fairly improbable comeback from a 3-1 deficit in winning the NBA title by defeating the Golden State Warriors in game 7, 93-89. Finally, we had a hotly contested game in this series that has been defined by the teams taking turns…

Game 6: We’re Going Back to Cali

After the beat downs of the Cavaliers served up by Golden State in the first two games of the finals, Cleveland looked like they had no business on the court with Warriors. Game 2 was particularly troubling because I’d never, in all my years of watching the NBA Finals, see a time check out in a finals game. After a comeback in game 4, to give them a commanding 3-1 lead heading back to the friendly confines of Oracle Arena, game 5 was thought to be a prelude to a…

2016 NBA Finals Game 4

Game 4 was a tale of two halves: in the first half, Cleveland’s defense and rebounding powered them to a five point halftime lead. However, even with that there were some cause for concern if you were Cavs fan, most prominently Thompson and Curry were starting to find their respective rhythms and there was some offensive stagnation derived from iso-ball and a LeBron James who seemed hellbent on passing on as many scoring opportunities as possible.  In the in the second half of the Cavaliers defense was mistake prone constantly…

Game 3 2016 NBA Finals: Amazing What Happens When You Put Forth a Little Effort

After not only dropping both games at Oracle, in particularly embarrassing fashion game 2, I wondered how the Cavaliers would respond by returning home for game 3. The Cavaliers took control from the tip off the strength of a dominant first quarter and never looked back. Kyrie Irving finally made his first appearance in the series, he opened up with 16 in the opening quarter en route to a 30 point evening. Lebron James came out in attack mode and finished up with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists.…

Game 2- Majorly Disappointing

After, getting worked in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Finals, it was expected that the Cleveland Cavaliers would come out with a much better effort in what was tantamount to a must win game. That didn’t happened as Golden State lambasted the Cavaliers 110-77. An eight point lead the Warriors took into halftime quickly doubled early into the third quarter. It was around that point in the game Cleveland seemed to mentally check out, giving what I’d generously describe as half-hearted efforts on defense and on the…
