Albany State tennis sweeps Fort Valley State

The Albany State tennis team took care of business , 7-0, Saturday against the Wildcats of Fort Valley State. In singles competition Doylisha Copeland, Allyah Williams, Asia Raulerson, Sumana Panauganti, Carla Sorroche all claimed victory in their respective matches. In doubles play, Copeland and Williams won their match 6-0, while Bianca Leao and Sumana Panauganti were almost as dominant, winning their match 6-1. Albany State Athletic Department has NCAA probation lifted

Tuesday morning Albany State University announced that the NCAA had removed the school’s athletic probation from probation status. As reported by WALB, back in 2016 Albany State began an internal audit of its athletic program. Following that the University self-reported potential issues to the geniuses at the NCAA. The Albany State University Men’s and Women’s basketball teams both are hitting the road for pair games over the next several days. ASU is heading to Columbia, SC to take on the Tigers of Benedict on Thursday. They will follow that up with a game against Allen University on February 19. Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown , ASU Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams were swept by the Clark-Atlanta Panthers on Monday at the ASU East Campus.   In the women’s game, the Panthers won 62-61.  The Panthers jumped out to a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  But, the Golden Rams outscored the Panthers 18-6 in the 2nd quarter.  At the half, the Golden Rams led 32-26.
