Albany State swept in basketball doubleheader

Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown , ASU Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams were swept by the Clark-Atlanta Panthers on Monday at the ASU East Campus.   In the women’s game, the Panthers won 62-61.  The Panthers jumped out to a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  But, the Golden Rams outscored the Panthers 18-6 in the 2nd quarter.  At the half, the Golden Rams led 32-26. Bowie State’s Ross and Bobo named to Don Hansen All-America Teams

Courtesy of Bowie State Athletics: The Bowie State University football team earned two selections to the 2021 Don Hansen Division II All-America Team, the Don Hansen Football Committee announced on Feb. 1. Defensive lineman Jonathan Ross was named to Don Hansen All-America First Team and offensive lineman Quinton Bobo was named to the Don Hansen All-America Second Team. Harris Stowe State University receives bomb threat

St. Louis, Missouri’s Harris-Stowe State University is the latest HBCU to be the target of a bomb threat Tuesday morning. According to a statement issued by the University, St. Louis Metropolitan Police as well as the FBI have been contacted and are investigating. Authorities are conducting a search of all campus facilities. Classes and university operations, which also include the chow hall have been suspended. Tuesday morning Morgan State became the latest HBCU to receive a bomb threat, coming on the heels of six institutions thst were threatened just yesterday. The campus has been closed and the campus is being searched. (7News) — A shelter in place has been issued for students and staff at Bowie State University due to a bomb threat Monday.  CNN is reporting that at least six Historically Black Colleges and Universities have received bomb threats launching police investigations. The schools that received threats Monday include Bowie State, Howard University, Southern University and A&M, Bethune-Cookman University, Albany State Universityand Delaware State University, according to campus spokespeople or social media posts.
