Following in the vein of the “L.A. Dodgers” Kobe VI Protro, Nike is preparing to release similarly themed Kobe slides.  They sport an all-Dodger blue look with a snake-scaled overstrap that features a silver Kobe logo. A cushy branded midsole/footbed and blue rubber outsole round things out.  They are set to debut this spring.

Teased by Vanessa Bryant earlier this year, this Air Force 1Low is reportedly inspired by Kobe Bryant’s sneaker free agency during the 2002-03 season. Kobe Bryant’s father, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant passes at age 69

Former NBA player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, the father of Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, has died. He was 69. An official cause of Bryant’s death was not announced as of Tuesday morning. La Salle University, where Bryant played and coached, said in a statement that Bryant “was a beloved member of the Explorer family and will be dearly missed.” Longtime Philadelphia-area basketball coach Fran Dunphy, who currently is the head coach at La Salle, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Bryant recently suffered a massive stroke. Earlier in the week Vanessa Bryant posted a pair of never-before-seen Kobe VIII Protros on her Instagram and Tuesday she introduced the world to a new Kobe IV PE. It sports a pink tumbled leather upper with white tumbled leather Swooshes adorning the lateral and medial sides; the same hue is also present on the external heel cup. Jalen Brown wears Kobe VI Protro honoring Kobe and Gigi Bryant

In a recent game, Jalen Brown took the court wearing a commemorative pair of “Reverse Grinch” Kobe VI Protro. On the sides that are normally occupied by black Swooshes sport murals of Kobe and Gigi on the lateral sides, while reading “In Loving Memory of” “Kobe and Gigi” on the medial side of each respective shoe. Fifteen years after its original 2009 debut, the “Gold Medal” Kobe IV is planned to make its return next fall in Protro form. At this juncture there are no images available, but what is known is they will make use of a white, dark obsidian, varsity red and metallic gold color palette. Nike is relauching Kobe line

NIke has announced that the company plans to relaunch the line of the late, great Kobe Bryant ( it still doesn’t seem real/right to refer to him that way) later this summer.
