Clippers trade Rusell Westbrook to Jazz, expected to end up in Denver
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Russell Westbrook has been traded to the Utah Jazz (again). The Jazz are expected to buy Westbrook out, paving the way for the former MVP to join the Denver Nuggets. Although Westbrook picked his player option to return to the Clippers, his future with the team seemed to be on somewhat tenuous ground with Marc Stein reporting on July 5 that the team was “openly exploring…

Full-time scapegoat Russell Westbrook was absent the Lakers lineup with a hamstring injury. At for one night, free of their alleged anchor, did the Lakers rise to show the level of play that the Lesychophants in the media and delusional Lakers fans have been trying to convince the sport populace they have been held back from? In a word, no. The Lakers dropped to 0-4 on the season as the Denver Nuggets game them a 110-99 kick in the pants Wednesday night. Anthony Davis’ stat line looked good; had 22…

The Lakers fell to 0-3, losing 106-104 to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday afternoon. There are plenty of reasons that the Lakers snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, mostly stagnant, fruitless offensive possessions and non-existent defense down the stretch. However the narrative was, and will be reiterated/forced down the collective throat of basketball fans by mainstream sports media, that this play was why the Lakers lost: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Basketball News (@basketballnews) However they will say very little, if anything about this…

Last season, the media arm of Klutch Sports, led by Shannon Sharpe and Nick Wright convinced a lot of people that Russell Westbrook was one of the worst players in the Association and that he alone was the sole cause of the basketball maelstrom that was the 2021-22 Los Angeles Lakers. They conveniently ignore the fact the roster was aged, displayed at best an indifference to defense, did not shoot well, and ran no real offensive system, which was the real root causes of why the team was so awful. …

Granted he did himself no favors at all with his play, particularly in the first few months of the season; ceasing the diagnosis of what went wrong in Los Angeles last season by heaping all the blame on Russell Westbrook, at that point is both ham-handed and myopic. It is more nuanced than that because frankly last season Russell Westbrook was never put in a position to succeed. Taking things back to before he ever donned a Lakers gamer in an NBA game, anyone with basketball brain 1 could have…

Barring miraculous, sweeping changes to their roster, all indications are that the Los Angeles Lakers will once again be the worst pro basketball team in LA. Unlike last season the gas bags in the sports media have not to wait until the year tipped off to find a scapegoat, they are already planting those seeds in the hopes they will blossom into a Westbrook-Ham blame tree. When this season takes its inevitable nosedive, the sports media and Laker ”fans” new favorite whipping man Russell Westbrook and new head coach Darvin…
