Albany State softball takes a pair of loses at Georgia Southwestern

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Golden Rams 3-game winning streak was snapped by the Georgia Southwestern University Hurricanes on Tuesday evening in Americus, Georgia. With the loses, the Golden Rams fell to (21-13) overall. The Hurricanes improved to (32-15). In game 1, the Golden Rams were defeated (9-1) by the Hurricanes. Clark Atlanta v Savannah State softball game postponed

The softball game that was scheduled to take place between the Panthers of Clark Atlanta University and the Tigers of Savannah State has been postponed to due the heavy rains in the Atlanta area. The specifics of a makeup day and time will be announced sometime over the coming days.

Savannah State paced this year’s preseason team with nine selections after closing last season with one of the best records in modern Tigers’ history at 34-12. They led the regular season with a 28-2 conference mark and entered last year’s tournament as the No. 1 seed. According to the Black Sports Network, the Golden Rams finished with the most wins of any HBCU on any level in the country. From the SIAC The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its 2022 softball all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors. Tuskegee’s Kendra Gibbons headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2022 SIAC Player of the Year alongside teammate Ayriana Stoneback who was named 2022 Starting Pitcher of the Year.
