Jackson State out of Southern Heritage Classic

Since its inception in 1990, Jackson State has competed in the Southern Heritage Classic 28 times. However it appears that is coming to an end. Wednesday Jackson State announced its cessation of its participation in the Southern Heritage Classic, stating that their governing athletic conference, the Southwestern Athletic Conference has entered an agreement that is in conflict with that of the Southern Heritage Classic, which was not set to end until 2024. Prairie View’s protracted and at times seemingly much-stuck search for a head football coach looks to have finally come to an end. According to HBCU Premier Sports and News, Bubba McDowell will be the Panthers new head football coach.
