Atlanta Falcons’ wide receiver Julio Jones was rocking Air Jordans on the sidelines of the team’s preseason game. This may have been surprising because he has been , up,until that point, known as an Under Armour athlete. Well apparently that’s no longer the case. Nike to assume Under Armour’s 2020 MLB Uniform Deal

The rich get richer. NIke currently has uniform deals with the NBA and the NFL and according to a Sports Business Journal report, the Beaverton, Oregon based sports giant is closing in on the completion of an agreement to take over Under Armour’s upcoming Major League Baseball uniform contract. Stephen Curry signed sneakers of girl who died during basketball game

Kimberly Nuestro was a  Golden State Warriors fan and student at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. The 16-year old sophomore, and captain of her junior varsity basketball team, was playing a club basketball game last Saturday night when she passed out and was later pronounced dead Sunday at Stanford Medical Center. Howard and Under Armour reach outfitting deal 

Howard University and Under Armour have agreed a deal that makes the Baltimore based brand the designer and game day uniform provider for all of the school’s 19 men’s and women’s varsity athletic teams as well supply teams with apparel and accessories. Terms of the multi-year deal, which goes into effect July 1, were not disclosed.  This deal marks UA’s first pact with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

Sports Authority Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

If you have a job at the Sports Authority, you may want to dust up that resume. That’s because the sports retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday. Amongst its creditors are Nike, to whom it owes a whopping $48 million dollars , and Under Armour $23 million. The company has been adversely affected by more shoppers purchasing online, rather than brick-and-mortar locations. They are planning to close 140 of their 463 stores as well as two distribution centers in Denver and Chicago, respectively.

Kemba Walker no longer with UA, signs with Jordan Brand

When I was looking at photos from NBA Media Day and noticed that Kemba Walker in “Grape” Air Jordan V’s, that struck me as a bit odd because, to that point, I knew him to be an UA athlete. Apparently there was a reason for this.  Earlier today the Charlotte Hornets’ lead guard announced he is the newest member of Team Jordan.
