News has emerged that the “Pearl” Foamposite Pro will return in 2025. The “Pearl” Foam Pro was last seen in 2015, along with the Air Hawk Flight, as part of the “Class of 97” pack inspired by Jesus Shuttleworth’s footage in the classic movie, “He Got Game.”  At this juncture, there are available images of the 2025 iteration, so it is not yet known if the coloration on the Foamposite upper will be closer to the white of the OG and the aforementioned 2015, version or more of the pearl…

title image via Lane College Athletics For his recent on-court exploits, Lane College guard Christopher Hood was named SIAC Newcomer of the Week.  In the Dragons’ 79-71 win over Benedict College on November 30, the junior guard scored 22 points, a mark that was only outpaced by teammate Christopher Matthews’ 23, on 7-9 shooting from the floor and 8-11 from the charity stripe. Alabama A&M has announced that head football coach Connell Maynor has been relieved of his head coaching duties, according to an announcement from AAMU Director of Athletics Dr. Paul A. Tennessee State falls short in playoff matchup with Montana, 41-27

title image via Tennessee State Athletics Ill-timed miscues proved to be Tennessee State’s undoing as they came up short in a hard-fought 41-27 defeat to Montana in the first round of FCS Playoffs.  Montana struck first when Ty Morrison kicked a 39-yard field goal, giving the Grizzlies a 3-0 lead. Tennessee State was named the HBCU+National Team of the Week

title image via Tennessee State Athletics Eddie George and the Tennessee State Tigers were named the HBCU+ FCS National Team of the Week. In their most recent and most important game of the season, TSU defeated Big South-OVC leader Southeast Missouri to earn a share of the conference crown. Tennessee State’s Jalen McClendon named to HBCU+ Player of the Year Watchlist

Tennessee State defensive back Jalen McClendon was named to the HBCU+ Player of the Year Watchlist. The award will bestowed upon the most outstanding player from the nation’s 21 Division I HBCU programs.  Providing steady, and many times stellar play in the TSU secondary, McClendon has recorded 53 tackles (45 solo) , 12 pass breakups and 1 interception in 12 games this season, several of which he has played with a broken hand.  The winner will be announced December 9 and will be invited to the Stats Perform FCS National…

SWAC concludes not enough evidence of malfeasance in UAPB practice film investigation

Days after Jackson State’s convincing 41-3 shellacking of Arkansas Pine Bluff on November 2, speculation of chicanery surrounding the game began to swirl. Initially reported by OffScript, the issue stems from unauthorized access to UAPB practice footage. A subsequent ESPN report corroborated that of Scottay’s , indicating that a UAPB indicated to a member of the Pine Bluff coaching staff that he’d been informed by a Jackson State player that JSU defensive player at the team’s facility were watching film of UAPB’s practices from that week.
