7.Grambling State Tigers (7-4, 4-3)  The Tigers of Grambling State University remain at 7 in this week’s rankings. In their most recent outing, the Tigers were defeated by Alcorn State 27-16. Aided greatly by the Alcorn defense, the Grambling offense was never able to find its footing, held to just 142 yards through the air and just 99 on the ground. The Bulldogs beat Davenport, 44-23, to move to 11-0 and will host Northwood in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. The field for the 2025 Division II Football Playoffs was announced and 5 HBCUs were amongst the 32-team field.  Albany State Golden Rams ( 10-1, 8-0)  The Golden Rams of Albany State are the No.1 seed in Super Region 2. Albany State won the SIAC Championship by defeating Benedict 22-16 on Saturday and claimed the automatic bid that went along with it. Albany State defeats Benedict 22-16 to claim SIAC crown

Early on it appeared that this matchup was on the way to mirroring their meeting earlier in the season in which Albany Star came away with a dominant 31-3 win. Turnovers and a lackluster offensive performance proved to be Tennessee State’s undoing as TSU fell at home to Gardner-Webb 30-14.
