Dave Yamane named head baseball coach at Xavier University of Louisiana

He will begin his duties Thursday (Aug. 1, 2024).         Yamane has 22 years of college experience as a coach and director of operations, including associate head coach at two-year Los Angeles Harbor College in Wilmington, Calif., the past three seasons. Ahmad “Rod” White named Dillard University baseball coach

Ahmad “Rod” White was named the head baseball coach at Dillard University, having the interim tag removed from his title.  White assumed the interim role following the hmm departure of Trennis Grant, the first coach in program history in April. Grant accepted the head coach position at Clark Atlanta University earlier this week.  Coach White led the team to a 12-4 mark over their last 16 contests, en route to finishing the season 20-27.  White has over 13 years of coaching and scouting experience.

Alcorn could be looking at former Stephen F. Austin baseball coach

According to Michael Coker of blackcollegenines.com, Alcorn State is considering hiring former Stephen F. Austin coach Johnny Cardenas as its head baseball coach to replace Reggie Williams, who was shown the door after three seasons. After 16 seasons at the helm of the Stephen F. Austin baseball program, Coach Cardenas announced his retirement, which is to take effect on 31 July 2024. In his time leading Lumberjacks baseball, he recorded three 30+ win seasons.
