The experienced 211cm centre commits to Cairns on a two-year deal, after playing for the Perth Wildcats and Brisbane Bullets, achieving averages of 7.1 points and 4.8 rebounds across his six-year career. The Melbourne United announced today that they have signed All-NBL second teamer Melo Trimble to a one-year contract. The University of Maryland product player for the Cairns Taipans last season, playing in all 28 of the club’s games where he averaged 22.5 points, 4.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 34 minutes per contest. After moving on from head coach Larry Drew soon after the 2018-19 season ended, the Cleveland Cavaliers are in need of a new coach. According to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon, the Cavaliers are planning to set up an interview with J.B. Bickerstaff, the former head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies. Milwaukee Bucks point guard Malcom Brogdon is going to miss games 1and 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Boston Celtics, according to Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer. Brogdon has been out of the Milwaukee lineup since suffering a minor tear in the plantar fascia in his right foot in mid-March. He was originally expected to be out six to eight weeks. This season Brogdon averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 28.6 minutes per contest.
