SIAC Hoops: Albany State women’s hoops gets win over Edward Waters

The Albany State women’s basketball team got it done against Edward Waters, defeating the Tigers 54-49 Saturday afternoon. The two teams came out of the gate cold in the first quarter, shooting a combined 7-29 , 4-15 for ASU and 3-14 for EWC, in an opening period that saw a combined 16 points, with the Golden Rams managing to secure a 10-6 lead after the opening frame. Albany State was unable to hold off a second half surge from Miles as the Golden Rams fell to the Golden Bears 62-59. MIles came out strong, taking an early 7-0 lead , Albany State woudl battle back to take a brief lead at 12-11 on a Terin Wofford jumpshot. It wasn’t always pretty, but the The Albany State women’s basketball managed to secure a win over Miles College Monday afternoon, 49-41. In a game in which the teams combined for 45 turnovers, the Golden Rams were able to avoid a few of the mistakes that ultimately befell their Golden Bear opponents.
