In his first start of the season, Albany State freshman quarterback Kelias Williams accounted for three touchdowns as the Golden Rams blew out Fort Valley State 34-9 in front of a crowd of 13,391 in the 28th Fountain City Classic. The Albany State Golden Rams overcame a one point halftime deficit and then pulled away late in their 34-10 victory over the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers. Defense was the story of the first half for both ball clubs as the respective units for the Rams and Tigers gave up a combined 107 yards of total offense. It was a tough day at the office for the Albany State Golden Rams. ASU was on the wrong side of a 48-16 beatdown courtesy of West Georgia University.
