Smith University women’s tennis team was named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team and six Golden Bulls earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the ITA announced Thursday. This year the Intercollegiate Tennis Association saw an increase in qualifying teams and scholar-athletes. All-Academic honors were awarded to 940 teams and thousands of scholar-athletes.  JCSU women’s team who earned All-Academic honors individual academic accolades are Alisa Stevenson, Aleena Oakley, Aria Springfield, Cierra Turner, Jada Strickland and Halle Parker. Saint Augustine’s Shannon Kalawan claims 400 hurdles victory at Penn Relays for second consecutive year

(April 25) – For the second consecutive year, Shannon Kalawan (Jr./Westmoreland, Jamaica) of Saint Augustine’s University opened the prestigious Penn Relays with a victory in the women’s 400 hurdles at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa., on Thursday.  Running in the college division, Kalawan crossed the finish line first in 57.37 seconds at Franklin Field.
