Savannah State paced this year’s preseason team with nine selections after closing last season with one of the best records in modern Tigers’ history at 34-12. They led the regular season with a 28-2 conference mark and entered last year’s tournament as the No. 1 seed. 2023 Albany State Softball season preview

Courtesy of Albany State Athletics In 2022, Albany State Softball had a tremendous season as they finished with a (35-9) overall record as well as the SIAC Eastern Division Champions.   According to the Black Sports Network, the Golden Rams finished with the most wins of any HBCU on any level in the country. The Golden Rams feature several players that received accolades from the 2022 season.  Madison Hurt finished as the number #7 leading hitter in the country with a batting average of .467.  Morgan Brown was named SIAC Freshman of the year. …

From the SIAC The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its 2022 softball all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors. Tuskegee’s Kendra Gibbons headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2022 SIAC Player of the Year alongside teammate Ayriana Stoneback who was named 2022 Starting Pitcher of the Year. Spring Hill’s Paityn Desormeaux earned this year’s Relief Pitcher of the Year honor.  Albany State’s Morgan Brown was selected as the 2022 SIAC Freshman of the Year along with, Tuskegee’s Kaeley Roldan, who was named Utility Player of the Year. Albany State Softball takes Eastern Division crown

Via Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Golden Rams softball team won two out of three games against the Benedict College Tigers in their final series of the regular season.  As a result, the Golden Rams finish #1 in the Eastern Division of the SIAC.  The Golden Rams improved to 32-7 (16-3 in the SIAC) while the Tigers are 27-17 (11-7 in the SIAC).   In game 1, the Tigers defeated the Golden Rams 12-4.  The Tigers jumped out to a (3-0) lead after the 1st inning.  But, McLeod homered in…

The Albany State softball team ( 30-6, 14-2 SIAC) heads to Columbia, SC for their last road trip of the regular season, as they will take on the Tigers of Benedict (26-15, 10-5, SIAC) in a three-game set over the weekend. In their series with Allen University, the Albany State offense has been quite lively, generating 23 runs through the first two games. The Golden Rams pitching has been getting it done in their own right, not surrendering a single run and only allowing four Yellow Jacket hits over the two games. Albany State softball gets dominating wins over Allen University

Albany State softball extended their win streak to 13 after a dominating sweep of Allen University, winning the games by a combined 23-0 ( 12-0 in Game 1 and 11-0 in Game 2).
